What We
Believe
 |
Our life and vision grow out of our beliefs. This is why our passion is
to be ambassadors of God’s grace by "welcoming seekers, building
believers (and) following Jesus." This is the direct result of our view
of God, Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit and the Bible. Because this
purpose is governed by God's Word, what we believe is central to who we
are and what we do. |
What do we believe that is distinct from other churches in Marblehead?
First, we
believe it is only through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, that God
provides us with relevant solutions and timeless principles for dealing with
every personal issue, intellectual pursuit and societal problem. Because of this
fact we are committed to a group of foundational truths that under gird our
passion for proclaiming the message of Christ to our world.
To this end
we believe and teach that:
-
The Bible is the inspired Word of God and
therefore is the final authority in all matters on which it speaks.
-
There is only one, perfect, triune God who
reigns over all and sovereignly orders the affairs of the world according to
His loving purposes.
-
All human beings are separated from God because
of sin and disobedience and the only hope of being restored to a
relationship with Him is through His grace.
-
Jesus Christ, who is fully God and fully man,
died on the cross in order to reconcile our relationship with God and offers
forgiveness, restoration and eternal life as free gifts to all who trust in
Him alone for their salvation.
-
Jesus Christ was resurrected bodily from the
dead, and that this is proof positive that all He said, did and promised is
true.
-
The Holy Spirit, who is also fully God, indwells
and empowers all followers of Jesus, enabling them to live life as God
designed it, producing His love in their lives and gifting them to serve the
cause of Christ effectively in this world.
Our Vision
Our vision is to communicate the good news of God's offer of life and
forgiveness through faith in Jesus Christ to those in our community and around
the world, and to help those who are followers of Christ to deepen their faith
and make it relevant to every area of their lives.
How do we seek to accomplish this?
-
By helping followers of Jesus to better
understand what they believe and why they believe it
-
By providing opportunities and training to help
followers of Jesus share their faith with others
-
By actively supporting cross-cultural
missionaries in other nations and locally in ministries to other unreached
communities and international college students
-
By providing opportunities through short term
missions, and various local outreach events
-
By supporting a full-time youth pastor who
reaches out to young people in the community
-
By providing help for those in our community who
have emotional, physical and other needs
-
By offering various services to our community
that demonstrate the love of Jesus Christ
